Let’s Get to
Know Each Other

Hey hey!

I’m Anahita Banoo Lake-Khosravi, PsyD
But you can call me Anahita (On-uh-heat-uh).

I’m a clinical psychologist, million dollar business owner, 3x mama and lifter of heavy shit (aka weightlifter). And while I’m deeply proud of these accomplishments, I’m even more proud of how I got to each one.

Let’s take it back a bit.

It all started back in college -
I went to Oberlin College in Ohio. I was a double major - psychology and dance
(I even studied abroad for a year in London at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, but that’s a story for another time).

I always knew I wanted to help people and I wanted to move my body, but I never knew how closely related these two majors truly were for my future success.

The Helping People Side of Things…

After graduating with my doctorate, I went on to work as a psychologist in public schools. And while I loved connecting with the students, I soon realized I hated working for other people, and
I hated the way we were treated as employees

Well what better to do when your work environment than to
start your own business doing what you love?

Without hesitation, I did

I started my own therapy practice - at first just doing solo practice, but then thought

“Why not pour into the next generation of therapists and give them the exact experience I wish I had.”

And again. without hesitation, I did.

I started hiring therapists, and quickly grew my practice to
13 therapists. My income easily hit $15k months even while I was spending way less time in the therapist chair.

And within 2 years, we hit

$1 MILLION!

  • I did all this while growing, birthing, and breastfeeding my kids.

  • I did this all without working more than 40 hours a week, (in fact most weeks I worked 20-30).

  • I did all this while providing an incredibly positive work culture for my therapists and admin. AND

  • I did all this will taking a self-funded 3 month maternity leave.

And what I believe to be my biggest success -
I did this all while remaining true to my values and showing up as my authentic self in my business.

The Moving My Body Side of Things…

Unfortunately, after college my dance career dwindled. It just wasn’t a passion of mine anymore, and that was okay

But instead, I found other ways I loved moving my body.

I became a step aerobics instructor (hello 80s), started taking pole dancing classes, and started crossfit

I absolutely loved it.

I couldn’t wait to go back to the gym to see how much I could squat or lift.

I couldn’t wait to go to pole class to put on the 8 inch heels and just feel like a true badass

This became such a dominant part of my life and my whole being. I started realizing how invincible I felt in these environments.

And as someone who has struggled with my perception of my body my entire life, I finally didn’t care what my body looked like and all I cared about was lifting more weight

I went on to run multiple Spartan races and hike 10 fourteeners (I am a native Coloradan after all!).
I could squat 220#, deadlift 345#, and bench press 150#.

Those are numbers I never dreamed I’d reach when I started, but through the invincible mindset lifting gave me, it stopped being an “if” I’d get there to a “when” I’d get there.

Sounds Great Right? Well It Wasn’t All Roses and Sunshine…

When I started my business I stopped working out as consistently as I wanted.
I stopped lifting, stopped pole dancing, and truly lost the deep belief in myself to crush any goal I dreamt of. I was working harder and harder, and somehow my take-home pay had dipped below what I needed to provide for my family. I was low-key (let’s be real - high-key) freaking out.

I thought I just had to work harder, cast the other pieces of my life aside temporarily to pour more into my business. So I did.

And the more evenings I worked, the more workouts I skipped, the more time missed with my kids, came the realization that my business wasn’t actually doing better and that invincible mindset I had completely dissipated.

And That’s When It All Clicked -

I realized that all these parts of me were actually completely interrelated.

I realized that I couldn’t sacrifice one piece of my life for another, because each piece needed to work together in order to find success in all areas.

I realized that the weightlifting and workouts fueled my belief and my drive in that million dollar business. It started becoming

“If I can lift this weight, then I can hit the million dollar mark”
and lo and behold. It worked.

So Now I’m Here…

To help you in all these areas too, so you can have a

Strong body, Strong mind, and Strong business

Because the stronger any one of these areas are,
the lighter the lift will be to make that first MILLION dollars.
